University of Sheffield

The University of Sheffield, located in South Yorkshire, is one of the original red brick universities. The University was formed by the merger of three colleges in 1905. It is a multi-campus university predominantly over two campus areas, being the ‘Western Bank’ and ‘St George’. This pen drawn illustration depicts the Western Bank campus. Firth Court sits at both the heart of the Western Bank campus and the whole university precinct. Today, there are more than 30,000 students at the University.

The University of Birmingham received its royal charter in 1900 and is a founding member of the Russell Group of British research universities. It is now the fourth largest university (out of 167) in the United Kingdom with more than 34,000 students.
